We just got back from a really great trip to see my Grandmother in California. 1600 miles in two days – twice. There and back. That was a little hard on us, but I was really afraid of how the dogs were going take it. That's right. The dogs. 1600 miles in two days with both dogs in my Dodge Stratus. Yes, we are nuts. So far, these posts have all been from my wife, but now I’m going to jump in occasionally and offer my thoughts. It just amazes me how little accurate information is available. Mexico is so close, but no one really knows anything about it. I keep having the same conversation with people when I tell them I’m going to Mexico. They start with something to the effect of “be careful”, “You’re going to get robbed”, or “Watch out for bandits”. We talk a little more, then they exclaim, “YOU’RE DRIVING!! Its so dangerous, you shouldn’t drive in Mexico”, etc.

We contacted our real estate agent, Joanne Stewart, yesterday. It felt like a really big move and it was great. We’re not at the no turning back point yet, far from it. But it feels like a real move toward our goal. Thursday, March 16, 2006 - 01:32 PM

Woo Hoo! Chuck’s work has approved his vacation for the week we need in California AND the month in Mazatlan. I never thought it would happen. They have screwed us on every vacation in the past. He can never get more than 3 days off at a time. Sunday, February 12, 2006 - 08:35 PM

I got my certified copy of my birth certificate in the mail today. It arrived in the self-addressed, stamped envelope I provided. I opened it and realized it isn’t actually a copy of my birth certificate, its a standard form with the blanks filled out by somebody with a typewriter, signed by a stamp, and passed somewhere in the vicinity of the official seal. |
