Sometimes I Love My Job

E-mail Print PDF

I really enjoy what I do for a living. I think it is the best gift I have ever gotten in life. I'm not a drone punching a time clock just counting the hours until its time to go home. But that doesn't mean that some of the stuff I do isn't too easy or lacks a chance to have creative input. It happens. And those jobs are just a matter of cranking out the code. Thankfully most of the jobs I take are enjoyable projects that strike a balance between creativity and technical skill. And sometimes a project comes along that has me giggling from beginning to end. My most recent site was one of those projects.

The Love of Dogs

The love of dogs

I was out at a client's site a few days ago, taking pictures of the property for a website I am constructing. I came home, plugged the camera into my computer, and started to download the images. Happy Birthday Chuck

I am one of those people who others really like or really don't. There aren't many in the world who are luke warm toward me. So I am continually astounded and desperately grateful that I have this exquisite man who loves every peculiarity, every annoyance, every mildly alarming indication of a psychotic break.

God Shrugs

Warning: This post was a very cathartic experience for me, but may be pretty depressing for you. Feel free to skip it.

I have a deep dread of middle of the night and early morning calls. They never seem bring glad tidings. But since it was 10:00 on a sunny Mazatlan morning, I felt absolutely no alarm when the telephone started to ring. I looked at the caller ID. It was my Mom. My mood immediately picked up a bit, and I answered the phone, "What's up?"

We Need a Book Club

E-mail Print PDF
mazatlan book club

I don't mean one of those groups where everyone reads the same book and then tries to sound erudite while sitting around and discussing it. That would never work here. Forget trying to find the decent wine and good cheese for such a gathering, finding enough English language copies of the same book for everyone to read would limit us to Harry Potter. I'm thinking more of a book swap meet. We can all get together each month and bring the books we've finished reading and trade them for treasures we haven't yet discovered.
