I am considering the subscription to either

Sky TV (mexico)

or Dish TV (mexico)

Sky Tv has shops and installtor all over town
and Dish Tv  was proposed by Telmex ...
They (Telmex) are intermediaries and collect the subscription fee on your telephone and internet bill...

I would like the opinion of people using dish tru Telmex.

Happy with the system?
satisfied with the quality of reception? the service?

Thanks for the feed back

Here is an answer I received from Pablo

For long time I lived with the hope that Dish/Telmex would bring back some of the TV channels we Americans are accustomed to, but to my disappointment their channel line up is even worse than Megacable, which pretty much almost matches Sky's line up, so whether I like it or not I'll have to stay with Megacable.

another answer from lvmlvme

We checked in with SKY also the other day and found they require a 1-1/2 year contractual commitment, not something we cared to do, even though they did have some good English speaking channels.

Thanks Pablo,
I have been enjoying Megacable for the past 6 years now...
But I am changing location (moving within Mazatlan) and Megacable is not available in my new location...
so "whether I like it or not I'll have to do without Megacable".
I wish I could have stayed with Megacable...

My choices are : I will have to switch to Telmex for the internet and the land line,
and either "Dish" or "Sky" for the tv...

"Dish" seems less pricy than "Sky"

The most expensive package with "dish" is called "all access"  it includes HBO (3 chanels), Cinemax, Max Prime, Movie City, City vibe, City mix, and (Paquete Basico and Basico +),
almost all the chanels that are on Sky or Megacable ...
The Maximum price is 424 pesos per month including independant programmation on two tv's ( two receivers)
that is 80 pesos more so total 504 with two receivers

Sky offer its maximum package called "Universe" (very similar to dish) for 719 pesos + an additional 125 pesos per month for a second receiver... (to compare to dish we are at 844 pesos per month (almost double the price) for a similar package (not quite identical but fairly close)...

Just thought that some of you had experienced either one of these satellite systems ...

Thanks also to lvmlvme,
Sky does have a lot of english channels with spanish subtitles, just as Megacable or dish...
The three companies are basically offering the same channels...
I am concerned with the quality of the service and the reception...

but since no one seems to have tried Dish, I will give a try to "Dish"  & I'll let you know ...
