My parents came for another visit - the second one in a year! It was a wonderful visit, but too short. They were only able to stay for a week. At least this time they recognized me at the airport. Last time, it had been so long that I had to wave my arms around like an idiot for them to realize it was me. But this time was different in a lot more ways than that.
Last visit we drug them all over town, and even out of town, trying to make sure they saw everything that made Mazatlan special to us. It was downright exhausting. And do you know what my dad remembered the most about his trip? A beach doughnut. Followed closely by a papa loca from Tacos Raymundo, our favorite street cart. All the fancy things we did or the day trips we took just didn't make nearly as big of an impact as the simple things. So this time we learned our lesson, took it easy, and just enjoyed each other.
I thought it would be fun to make a video from some of the pictures my Dad took. I think the best way to see what interests someone is to see what they take pictures of, don't you? As you can see in the video below, it was the little miracles of the everyday that captured my dad, just like us.
